Animation: Aras Flight




Ara's Flight by Hagop Kaneboughazian is a short film about a young boy who dreams of flying into the heavens to reunite with his parents. All alone in a deserted orphanage, Ara builds a pair of cardboard wings and attempts to take flight. Ara's Flight is dedicated to all the children of war. The film attempts to visualize the needs orphaned children have for love and guidance in a world that can sometimes make no sense.

This is short about a young soldier which loses himself to a childrens book as the war closes in around him. Abridged was Joshua Harvey's senior thesis from 2005 at SVA in NYC. The project was a regional finalist in the student academy awards and has seen some success outside of the US, winning an award at the Kawasaki Digital Short Festival in Japan.

Melf lives in the highest tower in an ancient town, eagerly exploring the secrets of sorcery and magical spells.
